The North American Calorimetry Conference (CALCON) has served as the premier collegial forum for the dissemination of current research and state-of-the-art technological developments in calorimetry and thermodynamics since its inception in 1946. CALCON convenes annually at selected sites in the United States or Canada, and jointly with the IUPAC sponsored International Conference on Chemical Thermodynamics whenever ICCT meets in North America. CALCON participants represent a broad cross-section of scientists in academia, government, and industry whose research interests primarily focus on the development and application of calorimetric methods and/or thermochemical techniques. Papers presented at CALCON span a diverse range of disciplines within the fields of biology, chemistry, engineering, and physics as well as emerging areas of research at the interface of core disciplines. Specific areas of interest include fundamental advances and applications in biology and medicine, biothermodynamics, biomaterials, environmental sciences, pharmaceutical products, food technology, solutions and fluid mixtures, condensed matter, nanoparticles, polymer science, solid-state materials, computer simulations, and thermodynamic databases. CALCON welcomes original research contributions describing novel and innovative thermodynamic approaches at the interface of core technologies.
This year represents a seminal milestone in our distinguished history as The Calorimetry Conference proudly commemorates its Platinum Jubilee. In accordance with longstanding tradition, The Seventy Fifth Calorimetry Conference (CALCON 2020) will return to the Nation's Capitol which has graciously hosted our Silver (CALCON 1970) and Golden (CALCON 1995) Anniversary Celebrations. CALCON 2020 convenes over the July Fourth Weekend and offers meeting participants a retrospective journey to our formative years as both a nation and conference. The Hyatt Regency Crystal City near Regan National Airport serves as our official venue and furnishes all of the latest amenities that are synonymous with first class accommodations afforded to meeting participants. We cordially invite you to join us for Fireworks on the National Mall as we celebrate Seventy Five Years of Innovation and Progress in Calorimetry and Chemical Thermodynamics. In recognition of our heritage and legacy, the Organizing Committee is extending special invitations to all former Conference Award recipients as this year's Keynote Symposium is a Platinum Jubilee commemorating and honoring our Seventy Fifth Anniversary.
Amidst the spectacular views of our Nation's Capitol, the Conference Organizing Committee has assembled a diverse Scientific Program comprised of several Feature Symposia focused on current and emerging issues that complement our existing array of scientific sessions on relevant and timely topics. Collectively, the technical symposia planned for CALCON 2020 represent the most expansive Scientific Program organized to date:
Conference participants are invited to submit original research papers presenting novel calorimetric and thermodynamic studies for platform or poster presentation. Please reserve the dates of 30 JUNE - 05 JULY 2020 and join us for an interactive collegial conversation at The Seventy Fifth Calorimetry Conference in Washington, D.C.
