The Calorimetry Conference traditionally reserves Wednesday afternoon/evening as a free period for conferees to socialize with family members and colleagues. Registrants and guests of The 66th Calorimetry Conference are cordially invited to participate in a group excursion to the Polynesian Cultural Center.
This 42-acre facility on the North Shore of Oahu celebrates the diversity and heritage of the South Pacific that is represented by eight island nations: Samoa; Aotearoa (Maori New Zealand); Fiji; Hawaii; Marquesas; Tahiti; Tonga; and, Rapa Nui (Easter Island). The Polynesian Cultural Center captures the romance and excitement of the South Pacific with its large lagoon, waterfalls, lush tropical flora, and an "erupting" volcano. This Hawaiian attraction offers visitors a unique perspective of Polynesian culture with the opportunity of traveling to authentic island villages, participating in daily activities (i.e., foods, crafts, games), and viewing exhibits on native customs.
Our eight-hour social extravaganza commences promptly at 2 PM on Wednesday afternoon and includes: round-trip bus transportation from/to Turtle Bay Resort; admission to the Polynesian Cultural Center; full access to the island villages, exhibits, canoe pageant, IMAX theatre, and tourist shops; and, an extensive Ali'i Luau all-you-can-eat dinner buffet. The event filled experience culminates with the spectacular evening show, Hā: Breath of Life, replete with a cast of over 100 islanders performing traditional Polynesian music and dancing in the dramatic 2,800-seat Pacific Theater.
Please reserve space for yourself and accompanying guests to participate in the group excursion to the Polynesian Cultural Center by completing the designated section of the Registration Form or submitting payment to the Secretary-Treasurer. The participation cost of $ 95 per adult ($ 70 per child) covers all expenses associated with the Ali'i Luau Package including:
